“Carnation” is a collection of works by Japanese photographer Shirami Hiko. Sekimi Hiko, who passed away at the age of 30 in 2001, was the founder of Galleria Q, a gallery in Shinjuku 3-chome. Born in Komae, Tokyo in 1970, he became friends with Koji Onaka, Japan's leading photographer while studying at Waseda University. Worked as a contract photographer for the Mainichi Shimbun and Photography Department since the 90s, covered the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake in 1995, and continued to shoot fixed-point images of the reconstruction after that. It is published as “Shooting”. In the late 90s, I shot a series titled “Carnation” in Japan, the Soviet Union, and Eastern European countries. In 2001, I was caught in an accident during a bus ride. This book contains illustrations of the "Carnation" series described above in a collection of works published by volunteers. The editors are Junichi Ito, Michitaka Ota, Koji Onaka, Hiroomi Sahara, Asako Takahashi and Go Miyazawa.
