A collection of photographs by Japanese photographer Kaishu Kanda “Walking on a Map”. Born in 1986, completed the Graduate School of Japanese Photography Arts in 2011. In 2009, he held his first solo exhibition “Night Sky at Midday” at Nikon Salon Shinjuku. In line with the exhibition, we published our first photo book “Walking Maps” in 2014 and “Wall” in 2016. This book is a collection of landscapes in various areas of Kanto, “I have been walking around looking for such a scene as a boundary between places” (from this book). Photographs were taken in areas such as Chiba and Nagano, including Fukaya, Saitama Prefecture where Kanda was born and Fujioka, Gunma Prefecture, where he grew up. Murakoshi Toshiya is known as a landscape surrounding his hometown, but the static scenery projected in monochrome may be connected to both. “While searching for whereabouts and gazing at whereabouts, we will create a footprint that we walked by superimposing the appearance of one day's home in an unobtained landscape” (from this book). . Signed by the photographer .
