"Shinjo-roku (Signed for Previous Owner)" is a photo collection by Japanese photographer Yoshiichi Hara. While his 1982 self-published "Stripper Encyclopedia" is his signature work, Hara has also left behind numerous lyrical works, brimming with Japanese sentiment and humanity, through portraits of strippers, entertainers, and other performers. Since 2000, he has transformed his traditional style, energetically producing works like "The Darkness of the Present," "While There's Light," and "Insects of the Everlasting World," energetically releasing emotional works that move between dream and reality. This book features Hara's first photographs, taken with a 4x5-inch camera borrowed from a friend, after previously shooting with 35mm film. The collection features nude portraits of women from a variety of professions, including strippers, pink salon hostesses, avant-garde dancers, models, landladies, and musicians. At the end of the book, Hara writes, "I wanted real, genuine bodies. I thought the only way to erase the nostalgia for the volume of breasts and vaginas from my brain was to draw the ladies closer to me one by one and photograph them." The book is bound by Kohei Sugiura and Kazushi Suzuki.
