Blue Meteorite is a collection of works by Japanese dancer Saburo Teshigawara. After studying classical ballet, he began his own creative endeavors in 1981. In 1985, he formed the group KARAS, and has been pursuing new forms of expression that cannot be captured within the existing framework of dance. In addition to performing arts, Teshigawara is also a visual artist, presenting installation works both in Japan and abroad. This book begins with Teshigawara's texts and original illustrations for performance pamphlets, but the majority of the book is in the form of a photobook, consisting of performance photographs by Nobuyoshi Araki. At the end of the book, art critic Shunji Ito comments on Araki, saying, "He has responded more sensitively and sensually than anyone else to fleeting, fleeting, sad, and maddening existences, as a form of love. That is the reason why his photographs have a unique light." Unlike Araki, who shows intimate entanglements with women, this book captures fragments of a live performance on stage with a unique warmth and a comfortable sense of tension.
