"Ema Nude in Africa (Asahi Sonorama)" is a photobook by Japanese photographer Masaya Nakamura. After working for the Yomiuri Shimbun's photography department and other places, Nakamura became a freelance photographer in the 1950s. He was one of the disciples of Yuji Hayata, who made a name for himself with portraits and nudes of top stars, and in 1957, under the leadership of critic Tatsuo Fukushima, he was one of the members of the historic exhibition "Ten Eyes," which, along with Yasuhiro Ishimoto, Shomei Tomatsu, Kikuji Kawada, Eikoh Hosoe, and Ikko Narahara, set itself apart from conventional realist photography and heralded the arrival of a new era in photography. This book is a revised and expanded edition of the photobook "Ema Nude in Africa" published in the early 1970s. This collection features portrait nudes of Emma Sugimoto, a top model who frequently appeared in collection shows for designers such as Yves Saint Laurent, Pierre Cardin, and Givenchy, shot against the backdrop of the vast and wild landscape of Africa. Directed by Kenichiro Tamada, one of the founding members of Tokyo College of Photography. Includes a commemorative signature .
