Japanese photographer Tadashi Okami's photo book "Tsugaru / Winter Sea". Born in Tokyo in 1921, he entered the war after graduating from Keio University, and after the end of the war and returned to Japan, he worked at the National Chamber of Agriculture and worked as a researcher at the Agricultural Administration Research Council. Since I witnessed the harsh life of agricultural and mountain villages in that work, I thought that I should record it in a photograph to show the true appearance of agricultural and mountain villages that can not be written in the survey report, and that was the trigger for Japan Realism Photograph in 1967. I am an amateur photographer who joined the group. This book is a collection of works published by relatives the year after his death in 1993, and is set in Tsugaru. It is a stage that has produced many masterpieces, from Ichiro Kojima in the old days, Daido Moriyama to Masako Tomiya recently. Excerpt from the text below "Is it because I live in a harsh climate, or because I live in such a climate? I feel "hometown" in the harsh climate that nurtures.
