The Park is a book co-written by American photographer Helen Buttfield and author/editor Richard Lewis. Before moving to New York, Buttfield lived in Italy, Finland and New Zealand, and worked as an editorial staff member at Look magazine before becoming a freelance photographer in the 1960s. Lewis, on the other hand, has published many children's poems and has collaborated with Buttfield on many occasions. In recent years, he has also published a photo essay, To See: A Photographic Essay Based on the Writings of Thoreau. This book is a photo essay on the theme of parks, published about 40 years ago. It is a wonderful collection of works that describes the wonderfulness of parks, such as the necessity of parks in cities and the beautiful expressions of parks woven by nature throughout the four seasons, through text and photographic visuals that even children can easily understand.
