Donald Judd (1928-1994), an American artist representing the 20th century. After studying philosophy and art history at Columbia University in New York, Judd began his career as a painter in the 1950s and was also active in art criticism. In 1965, he published "Specific Objects," which discusses the relationship between works and space, and theoretically worked on production, expanding the field not only to art but also to architecture and furniture design. This book, Donald Judd Furniture Retrospective, was published in conjunction with the 1993 exhibition on furniture in Rotterdam and Munich. It seems that he bought a building in New York in 1968 and started making furniture for that purpose, but the wooden and metal furniture works that weave straight lines and verticals like Judd, which is said to be minimal art, are De Stijl and Bauhaus. Reminds me. Judd's furniture stands out because of its simplicity. This is a rare book that you can see all of them. Hardcover version.
