A photo book "42nd Street Studio" by American female photographer Joyce Baronio. Studied art history at Kenyon College in Ohio before attending Yale University. While studying art history and anthropology, he also participated in a photography course and learned photography from the photographer Walker Evans, who was teaching there. This book is a collection of portraits of strippers and prostitutes taken at Evans' studio in the 70's when he was studying with Evans. By photographing these women living in the night world under natural daylight, I am able to remove the vulgar image that has been given to them, revealing one side of them as women.
