"Takikyo: Yokoo Tadanori Collection Addiction (With OBI)" is a collection of works by leading Japanese graphic designer and artist, Tadanori Yokoo. This book was published in conjunction with the 1996 exhibition "Takikyo." It showcases the collection of waterfall postcards that Tadanori Yokoo had been collecting for inspiration. Initially, he used the approximately 100 cards he had on hand as a reference. However, he couldn't find the image he was looking for, so he asked his antique dealer acquaintances, friends overseas, and even places he visited for lectures to send him any waterfall postcards he had. Before he knew it, he received a flood of 13,000 postcards. Of those, only a few dozen served as inspiration for his artwork. Having fulfilled their role, the cards suddenly began to assert themselves, inspiring the artist. It is said that this marked the beginning of a shift from a creative style that pleased critics and museums to one that naturally expresses the images that emerge from Yokoo's mind. Includes obi. Published in "The Photobook: A History Volume Ⅱ."
