"Exhibition History Vol.1 (Signed)" is a collection of works by Hiroko Komatsu, one of Japan's leading contemporary photographers. Having won the 43rd Kimura Ihei Award for Photography in 2018, Komatsu, along with Daisuke Yokota and others, continues to attract significant attention both domestically and internationally as a photographer pioneering a new era. Having started photography relatively late after attending Osamu Kanemura's workshop, Komatsu transcends the boundaries of "photography" and "photobooks," making "exhibitions using photography" and "the act of using photography" itself the "works of art." Her motifs are often discarded materials and dilapidated places, and the "something" seen, encountered, and felt in those places is one of the greatest pleasures of viewing Komatsu's work. This book introduces exhibitions from 2009's "Heart of Titanium" to "Speedometer," "Organic Composition of Capital," "Expanded Slot," "Suicidal Tendency," "Her Name in the Broiler Space Era," and 2012's "Parallel Ruler." Text by Hajime Umezu. Limited edition of 300 copies. Signed by the photographer .
