"Yokohama 2022" is a privately published photobook by Japanese photographer Naoki Fuse (1970-). Born in Hyogo Prefecture, Fuse began taking photographs around 2006 while wandering around Japan, accumulating snapshots mainly of people he encountered and scenes of cities he visited. In 2009, his work "Shogyo Mujou" (Impermanence of All Things) was recommended by the jury of the Ihei Kimura Photography Award, and during his hiatus from 2010 to 2012, he met Shomei Tomatsu by chance in Nagasaki, and after that, he would occasionally show his photographs to him. In 2015, he held a solo exhibition at the Nikon Salon and also held a solo exhibition "Kagami to Tomoshibi" (Mirror and Lamp) at the ZEN FOTO GALLERY, and published a photobook of the same name. Since then, he has continued to travel around Japan taking photographs. Meanwhile, Fuse has been continuously producing his own handmade private editions, compiling copied photographs into simple files, and this book is part of that series. This book captures the people and urban fragments encountered while walking around Yokohama, conveying Fuse's travels and his practice of street photography.
