"Beijing Weather (Signed)," a photobook by Japanese photographer Koichi Ishida. Born in Beijing in 1943, Ishida studied under Shigeichi Nagano after graduating from what is now Tokyo Polytechnic University, and has been working as a freelance photographer since the age of 22. He has created works mainly in remote mountain villages in Japan, as well as in China and Southeast Asia. His style is captivating not only for its superficial beauty, but also for its expressive power that conveys the background and story contained within the images. His unique style, which intersects journalism and documentary, has led to the publication of numerous exhibitions and photobooks. This book is a collection of images taken in his hometown of Beijing in the 2000s. Ishida, who was born in Beijing to a father who emigrated to China in 1930 and worked for the South Manchuria Railway for 15 years, has an enduring interest in Beijing. The dust jacket is missing.
