"The L_st Album" is a collection of works by Thai artist Pariwat Anantachina. Anantachina, whose primary method of expression is collage, has created works themed on the accumulation of memory and time, by reconstructing existing images such as photographs, printed materials, and illustrations of everyday objects. This work is a representative project that he developed based on old family albums and commemorative photographs of unknown ownership that he has collected over many years from flea markets and second-hand shops throughout Bangkok. The photographs included depict ordinary scenes such as family trips, celebrations, and everyday gatherings, but they have already lost their owners and provenance, drifting as anonymous images. Anantachina re-edits these photographs, sometimes by applying collage, to reinterpret lost personal memories into new narratives. Although these are albums whose owners are unknown, the emotions and relationships depicted in them are surprisingly universal, evoking the viewer's own memories. This book quietly questions the nature of "family" and "memory" by traversing the techniques of photographic archives and contemporary art.
