"Unprofessional (Signed)" is a collection of works by Danish photographer Mathilde Sohr Rasmussen (1990-). Starting from her own body and identity, she intertwines her experiences as a model with the wavering gaze of a photographer, capturing moments when young women waver between their social roles and their self-image. In this work, she carefully explores, through portraits and self-images, the self-denial, the conflict with expectations, and the process of reclaiming oneself that lurks behind the glamorous world of fashion. There are many moments where the boundary between photographer and photographed, professional and unprofessional, becomes blurred, and a tension is characterized by the constant shifting of the dominant gaze. The text accompanying the photographs has a rawness that feels like an unadulterated record of inner voices, revealing figures who seek success and recognition while simultaneously struggling with vulnerability and trying to move forward. This book reflects the equal relationship between self-affirmation and self-denial, as it moves between the reality and dreams of living as a woman. Limited to 600 copies.
