"Circus" is a photo collection by American photographer Bruce Davidson. Davidson began taking photographs at age 10 and, as a boy, began making prints in his mother's home darkroom. He also received advanced art education from Josef Albers, who also taught at the Bauhaus, while attending Yale University. One of the original members of Magnum Photos, Davidson began his career as a photojournalist in the 1950s for magazines like "Life." Since the 1960s, he has produced a number of renowned works, including "East 100th Street," which captures the people of Harlem; "Time of Change," which depicts the Southern civil rights movement; and the color photographs of "Subway" in the 1980s. This book is comprised of illustrations from "Circus" shot in the 1950s and 1960s. Davidson continues to capture the "circus people" of his time, capturing the outsider with a tender and intimate perspective. Signed by the photographer .
