"Paris" is a collection of works by French photographer Robert Doisneau (1912–1994). From before the war to after, he continued to capture ordinary people—workers, children, lovers—over many years, leaving behind a portrait of Paris filled with humor and warmth. This large-format collection, the first to be systematically compiled posthumously from his vast body of work, combines approximately 600 photographs taken across street corners, alleys, parks, and suburbs, with words left behind in his photography diary. In addition to his famous masterpieces, the book carefully captures the everyday life of Paris as it changes over time, including casual gestures, chance encounters, and the changing seasons and weather. The photographs and text resonate with each other, creating a three-dimensional image of a city.
