Going Home (Signed) is a collection of works by Japanese photographer Tomoyuki Sakaguchi. Born in Tokyo in 1978, his debut work, HOME (Sokkyusha, 2007), featured suburban residential areas as motifs, depicting loneliness and relief hidden within the orderly cityscape with soft light and shadow, poetically expressing the relationship between the city and its people. This work was also featured in The Photobook: A History Volume III, edited by Martin Parr. This book, produced 18 years after HOME, is a sequel to HOME, painstakingly capturing the deserted landscape of Tama New Town late at night, as if one were walking home. Details such as streetlights, residential lights, foggy roads, and plantings add a sense of human presence to the deserted city at night, evoking a sense of drifting between city and home, past and present.
