"Mating Behavior" is a collection of works by Japanese photographer Tokumitsu Iwago (1915-2007). During and after the war, Iwago worked as a photographer for the Dairen Nichinichi Shimbun newspaper in Manchuria. He became a freelance photographer in 1961 and subsequently specialized in animal photography, becoming a pioneer in the field. This work captures the life activities of various creatures, including mammals and reptiles. The natural appearance of various animals engaged in the activities that are the source of life in the great outdoors offers a glimpse into their natural instincts. Other pages will bring a smile to your face at the cuteness of the animals, while pages capturing births will move you with the strength of the creatures. As an aside, his son, animal photographer Mitsuaki Iwago, participated as an editorial assistant and later said, "The photo of the rhino mating remains in my memory to this day."
