"Unnamed Road," a collection of works by South Korean-born, New York-based photographer Jungjin Lee, was first published in 2015 as part of his "This Place" project, set in Israel and the West Bank. Known for his unique technique of printing photographs onto washi paper, Lee captures landscapes that capture the spirituality of time, memory, and place. In this work, Lee casts his gaze, like that of an olive tree, over a landscape marked by the traces of history and conflict, capturing a desolate serenity and deep emotion in his black-and-white photographs. This new edition, published by Nazraeli Press in 2023, was reorganized to coincide with an exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Busan, South Korea. New illustrations and compositions have been added to the works from the first edition, presenting a richer, more lyrical world. Drawing viewers into the memories of the place, this book elevates the act of walking an anonymous road to a universal human experience, making it a representative collection of Lee's career.
