Mucho Sol is a photobook by Manuel Alvarez Bravo (1902-2002), one of Mexico's greatest photographers. Having a diverse family of artists in his family and being exposed to art from an early age, Bravo began to take up photography in earnest in his 20s. Influenced by the Mexican Renaissance following the Mexican Revolution and the art movement that emphasized the establishment of Mexico's identity by incorporating Mexican traditions and history from a Western perspective, Bravo's work was later highly praised by such renowned photographers as Edward Weston, Paul Strand, and Henri Cartier-Bresson. This book, published in 1989, is filled with Bravo's masterpieces.
