Me Kaksi is a photo book by Finnish photographer Pentti Samaratti. Samaratti was involved in photography education at the University of Art and Design Helsinki, the largest art university in the Nordic countries, and in the early 1990s, when he was over 40, he was awarded a scholarship and decided to devote himself to photography. Since then, he has traveled around the world, including Finland and other Nordic countries, the UK, Japan, and China, taking photos and winning numerous awards both in Japan and abroad. Samaratti's works focus on landscapes, animals, and humans. The vast land, the animals that live there, and the human figures are poetically expressed in monochrome, creating a tranquil work that is warm and sometimes lonely. This book includes Samaratti's masterpieces as well as unpublished works, and as the title "Us Two" (English translation) suggests, it is full of images of "two people," such as couples and friends. Born during the COVID-19 pandemic, this book seems to ask, "You're not alone. We're all together." English version.
