"Vamp" is a collection of works by Japanese artist Kaneko Kuniyoshi (1936-2015). In 1959, he entered Nihon University College of Art and studied under Kabuki stage designer Nagasaka Motohiro. After graduating, he got a job at a graphic design company, but left after three months to become a freelancer and start oil painting. He made his debut as a painter in the late 1960s when he was asked by novelist and literary scholar Shibusawa Tatsuhiko to illustrate a work. Since then, he has been active in a wide range of fields, from portraits of mysterious and erotic women to illustrations and book design. Since the 1990s, he has also released photo books, including "Drink Me Eat Me SEVEN ORIENTAL BEAUTIES" in 2004. This is Kaneko's first photo book, published in 1994, and is one of the books in the "Photo Musee" (Shinchosha) photo book series, which is a concise and inexpensive compilation of high-quality photographs.
