"Alice (Special Edition)" by Japanese photographer Saku Sawatari. After graduating from Nihon University College of Art, Department of Photography, he worked as an assistant to Yutaka Takanashi before going freelance. Since then, Saku Sawatari has worked as a fashion photographer for many famous magazines, and in the 1970s he made a name for himself by publishing innocent, beautiful, and sometimes fantastical portraits of girls and women, such as "Doll House in the Forest," "Nadia," and "The Girl from the Sea." Even after the 1980s, Saku Sawatari has continued to be active at the forefront, mainly focusing on the work of artists and idols. This book is a new edition of the commemorative first book published in 1973 with a design by Seiichi Horiuchi, a collection of works photographed with the British girl Samantha as a model. As with the first edition, 60 pieces have been selected from unpublished works. Includes an interview with Saku Sawatari by Shigeo Kuwahara, editor of the first edition, and a commentary by photography critic Kotaro Iizawa. Also included is a special essay by poet Hiromu Hormura and an unreleased photo exclusive to the first edition.
