"Hong Kong 1995 - 1997 (2015)" is a photo collection by Japanese photographer Michio Yamauchi. Michio Yamauchi is a photographer of the 'Daido direct line' who studied under Daido Moriyama. Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1950, after graduating from Waseda University he worked as a journalist and other positions before entering what is now Tokyo Visual Arts at the age of 29, and then participating in the legendary 'Image Shop CAMP' by Keizo Kitajima and others. While exhibiting his photographs in galleries and solo exhibitions, he gradually began to focus on producing photobooks. He is a master of street snaps, representing Japan, and has presented works set in Asia, including not only Tokyo but also Shanghai and Hong Kong, and has won many awards such as the Domon Ken Award, Hayashi Tadahiko Award, and Ina Nobuo Award. This book is a deluxe hardcover edition from shashasha, which has been newly re-edited and re-edited from the negatives of that time, and contains over 100 illustrations. Text by photography historian Ryuichi Kaneko. Written in both English and Japanese. Limited to 700 copies.
