A collection of works by Japanese photographer Masao Abe. Born in Yamagata Prefecture in 1940, after graduating from Tokyo College of Photography in 1965, he worked as an attendant and driver for actor and movie star Koji Nanbara, but in 1967 he went to Canada. He studied the language while working, saved up money, and then enrolled in the photography department at Ryerson University in Toronto. After graduating, he got a job at a commercial studio, and while working there, he also engaged in his own creative activities. After his work was featured in a magazine, he began taking nude portraits, which he continued as his creative work throughout his life while continuing his commercial work. The studio seems to be closed now, but this book is a collection of nude portraits that he left not for commercial purposes, but as a record of his career as a photographer.
