"Country Fair Portraits" is a collection of works by American photographer Mikkel Aaland (1952-). A former US national team swimmer in college, he published "Swear" in 1978, which illustrated the history of sweat baths such as the Finnish sauna, the Russian banya, the Islamic hammam, and the Japanese steam bath. Since the 1990s, he has published technical books introducing the possibilities of digital photography and processing methods using Photoshop, from the dawn of digital photography. He has published nearly 10 photography instruction books and has also left behind a photo collection, which is a collection of portraits taken in a temporary portable studio while traveling around "fairs" (fairs) in the United States. Master photographer Mary Ellen Mark has said the following about this work: "It's a very moving photograph, funny and sad. It's real American culture. Aaland is a modern-day Mike Disfarmer."
