Maripolarama is a collection of works by Maripol (1957-), an artist born in Morocco, studied in France, and worked in New York. After working as a designer and art director for the Italian fashion brand Fiorucci, Maripol attracted attention by designing the cover of Madonna's album "Like a Virgin," and later became involved in styling Madonna. Since the 1980s, she has deepened her friendship with Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat, and also did the art direction for the film "Downtown 81," starring Basquiat. Maripol has been active in a variety of fields, but since the 1970s, after moving to New York, she has been frequenting Studio 54 with a Polaroid camera and taking pictures all the time, and is sometimes called a "Polaroid artist." This is a collection of Polaroid works published in 2005, and in addition to the devout artists mentioned above, it is packed with stars such as Keith Haring, Grace Jones, Naomi Campbell, Matt Dillon, Vincent Gallo, Anna Sui, and Jean-Paul Gaultier.
