"Freischwimmer" is a photo collection by Wolfgang Tillmans, one of the most representative photographers in Germany today. Tillmans once said in an interview that he was a picture maker. Without being bound by the frame of “photo (house)”, photography is just “one of the means of picture making”, and artists who have continued to create “new“ pictures ”using a variety of abstract and concrete techniques. The appeal of Tillmans is to make a model every time and make a dense installation without any compromise in space, design and layout. This book is a collection of catalog works published in 2004, the first exhibition in Japan at the Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery. From the early 80's to 90's, it is a composition that gives a glimpse of a part of the mid-career that began to focus more on art expression. The first 80 pages are illustrated, and the second half approximately 50 pages contain text interviews. Both English and Japanese.
