"Lines and Bodies" is a collection of works by Yasuhiro Ishimoto (1921-2012), one of the leading photographers of postwar Japan. In 2021, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of his birth, exhibitions were held simultaneously at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum and the Tokyo Opera City Gallery, as well as at the Kochi Prefectural Museum of Art, which houses the majority of Ishimoto's works. This collection was published to coincide with the exhibition held in Paris from summer to autumn of 2024. Organized into sections such as "Experiment," "Coast," "Destruction," "Children," "Snow," "Door," "Tokyo," "Katsura," "Chicago," "Time," and "Flow," it includes many masterpieces from Ishimoto's three greatest works, "A Certain Day, A Certain Place," "Chicago, Chicago," and "Katsura," as well as numerous previously unseen related illustrations. This collection of over 200 pages can be considered a complete retrospective of Ishimoto's work. English edition.
