William Eggleston's Guide (2002, Signed) is a photobook by William Eggleston, a pioneer of new color photography in the United States. First published in 1976, this book is no exaggeration to say that it was the first photobook to recognize color photography as art. Influenced by Henri Cartier-Bresson and Walker Evans, Eggleston began to aspire to be a photographer in earnest, and in the 1960s, during the era of monochrome photography, he was one of the first to start color photography. Born in Mississippi in the southern United States, Eggleston depicted the very ordinary scenery of his hometown in a painterly manner, and edited the disappearing original scenery and history of America as if it were a personal story, and an unmistakable "America" was reflected there. The 1975 exhibition curated by John Szarkowski, the famous photography director at MoMA, caused a great sensation, and since then Eggleston's name became known throughout the United States, and the artistic recognition of color photography expanded. This is a historical photobook full of outstanding taste and deep flavor. Reprint edition, 2002. Signed by the photographer, a very valuable piece .
