"Thomas Ruff / Second Printing" is a collection of works by German photographer Thomas Ruff. Born in Zell am Harmersbach in 1958, Ruff studied under Bernd and Hilla Becher along with Andreas Gursky, one of the leading figures in contemporary photography. He is also a professor at his alma mater, the Düsseldorf Art Academy, from the 2000s. Starting with the "Interieurs" series, which features a collection of interior scenes from typical German homes, which he began working on while at the academy, Ruff gained attention with his "Portrats" series, which featured portraits of friends around him that were blown up to giant sizes. Since then, he has continued to explore new concepts in photography, including landscapes, architecture, nudes, celestial bodies, and even works that reconstruct digital images using computers and materials circulating on the Internet. This book is a catalogue of works published on the occasion of the major retrospective of Ruff's work, which traveled from the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo to the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa in 2016. This is the second printing and comes with 3D glasses.
