Acceptable is a collection of works by Japanese photographer Michio Yamauchi. Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1950, he graduated from Waseda University in 1975 and Tokyo College of Photography in 1982. Yamauchi studied under Daido Moriyama and continued to exhibit his work at the legendary photo gallery CAMP. He is a sniper who consistently takes street snapshots. He has exhibited images not only in Tokyo, but also in Hong Kong, India, Bangladesh and Hawaii, and his work in Hong Kong won the 22nd Ina Nobuo Award and his work in Bangladesh (Dhaka) won the 35th Domon Ken Award. This work was published by Place M in the 1990s and is composed of black and white images taken in Shanghai in the summer of 1993 (there are scratches due to pages being stuck together, see the 8th photo on the right).
