Aomori 1950-1962 (Fifth Printing) is a collection of works by Japanese photographer Masaichi Kudo (1929-2014). He was a photojournalist who served as the head of photography and director of the To-o Nippo newspaper in Aomori, and in the 1950s after the war, he was a regular winner of the so-called "monthly" awards, whose judges included Ihei Kimura, Ken Domon, and Hiroshi Hamatani. As his life's work, Kudo continued to photograph ordinary people in his hometown of Aomori for many years, but most of his photographs never saw the light of day, and he passed away in 2014. Later, his daughter accidentally discovered a large number of films taken by her father, scanned them with the help of her husband, and started introducing the photographs on an Instagram account, which gained popularity among overseas followers, and in 2021 a solo exhibition was held under the curation of Kyoichi Tsuzuki, leading to the publication of this photobook. This book is a hot topic in the photography world as an introduction to unknown photographers such as America's Vivian Maier. Edited by Koichi Matsumoto of Inunik and Junko Ogawa from Misuzu Shobo. 5th printing. Obi missing.
