Daido Moriyama was born in 1938, and Nobuyoshi Araki was born in 1940. ``Moriyama Shinjuku Araki'' is a photo book in which two people who have carved their names in the history of Japanese photography meet each other through the familiar city of ``Shinjuku.'' This book was published in conjunction with an exhibition of the same name held at Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery in 2005. Shinjuku is a major landmark in Moriyama's career, including his 600-page masterpiece "Shinjuku." Shinjuku is also one of the cities that Araki, who was born in Minowa, Taito Ward, and has photographed Tokyo in each era since the 1960s, continues to photograph the most. The contents are centered around photos taken by the two of them walking around Shinjuku on August 16, 2004, and include past works, with photos of the two of them randomly woven together. In addition, Sakiko Nomura, who is also known as Araki's assistant, took pictures of the day the two got together. The text by Hiromi Kitazawa, who planned the exhibition, and the dialogue between Moriyama and Araki are also worth reading. 1st printing.
