``Nature of Light'' is a collection of works by Japanese photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto. From the late 1970s to the 1980s, he began producing representative works such as dioramas, theaters, and seascapes, and held solo exhibitions that toured the Los Angeles Museum of Modern Art in 1994 and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1995. He has continued to exhibit his work at the Guggenheim Museum in New York (2000), the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago (2003), and the Mori Art Museum (2005). In addition to his activities as a photographer, he is a conceptual artist who has presented works that captivate the world using a wide variety of expressions such as contemporary artists, architects, and directors. It continues to receive high praise from overseas as well. This book is a collection of works published at the opening of the Izu Photo Museum in 2009. This book is full of highlights, including photos of the museum's architecture and interior taken by Sugimoto, early work from the 1970s, silver halide photos from the 2000s, and an introduction to Talbot's work.
