A Way of Seeing (2019, Fourth Edition) is a photo collection by Helen Levitt (1913-2009), who studied photography with Walker Evans and is one of the few photographers recognized by Evans. Levitt mainly studied under Evans in the 1930s, and later worked for Time and Fortune magazines, and held a solo exhibition at MoMA in 1943. Born and raised in Brooklyn, her primary focus is on the streets of New York, especially in poor neighborhoods such as Harlem. His street snapshots, which captured areas and people that most photographers at the time ignored with a loving and warm gaze, were compiled into a photo book in 1965 as ``A Way of Seefing.'' Revised and expanded editions have been published in 1981 and 1989, but this book was supervised by Levitt's assistant Marvin Hoshino, prepared the best negatives and prints, and created a new version. This is the 4th edition published to create a definitive edition that includes images.
