"Avec Elle" is a collection of works by Japanese female photographer Tomoko Yoneda and writer Mariko Asabuki. Tomoko Yoneda was born in 1965 and graduated from the School of Photography at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Art in 1989, and then the prestigious Royal College of Art in London, and has been based in London ever since. Born in 1984, she made her debut in 2009 with ``Ryusei'' and became the youngest recipient of the Dumago Literary Award the following year. Mariko Asabuki became a hot topic in 2011 when she won the Akutagawa Prize for the first time as a candidate for ``Kikotowa''. This book is a collection of works created in conjunction with the exhibition "Girlfriend and Avec Elle" held by Hermès at the National Art Center, Tokyo in 2018.It is a collection of 10 works based on Hermès objects and featuring a woman as the main character. It consists of Asabuki's novel and Yoneda's images. Yoneda's two photos for each story are fashionable photographs of Hermès items, and while the images other than the items are abstract motifs (spaces), they also have a hint of everyday life. You can feel the exhibition's theme of "Modern Womanhood." Rikako Nagashima is in charge of the simple yet clever design. Hardcover version.
