``Imaginary Homecoming'' is a collection of works by Finnish photographer Jorma Praanen. Born in 1951, currently lives in Helsinki. As a professor at Helsinki University of Art and Design (currently Aalto University), Praanen continued to train photographers who continue to create creative works that make full use of the unique Scandinavian sensibilities and coloring known as the ``Helsinki School.'' Since the 1970s, he has been interested in the culture of the Sami people, an ethnic minority in the Arctic Circle, and has taken his own portraits of the Sami people by re-photographing archives of photos taken in the 1880s that are housed in the Musée de l'Homme in Paris. "Imaginary Homecoming," which was returned to the site and transformed into a landscape, received high acclaim as a work that broke new ground in social landscapes. This collection of works has thrown a new light into the history of humanity and folklore. (Books included in 802 photo books)
