This book is a collection of catalog works published on the occasion of the exhibition ``Provocative Relationship = Takuma Nakahira x Daido Moriyama'' held at the Kanagawa Museum of Modern Art, Hayama from July to September 2023. The two met through Shomei Tomatsu in the 1960s, and at first they worked together as editors and photographers, and later began to work as photographers and photographers, sometimes as if they were rivals. Both artists co-starred in ``Provoke'' from the late 1960s, and then Nakahira in ``For the Words to Come'' and Moriyama in ``Photo Goodbye'', both of whom collaborated on photographs from the 1960s. Although they had put a break in their creative activities, it was the attitude and posture that firmly bonded both of them, and that was the perspective of ``provocation.'' From this perspective, this exhibition presents a valuable record of the activities of both artists, mainly through magazines and collections of their works.
