``Hitch-Hikers'' is a collection of works by American amateur photographer Doug Bigert. Bikato sadly passed away in June 2023 at the age of 82. Born in Illinois, I love traveling and have a wanderlust. I love people and I love talking to them. He was a minimalist who never spent money on himself, and was willing to donate and cooperate with wanderers and vagrants, and was loved by many. Photographs were originally taken by people who worked at sandal shops, taking pictures of people and sandals who came there, and later worked for about 20 years in global magazine distribution at Tower Record. It is said that he traveled extensively and visited more than 50 countries. Bikato has been hitchhiking since he was a teenager, and this book contains portraits of hitchhikers that he has taken over the past 20 years. A friend happened to come across this book and brought it to a gallery, which led to a solo exhibition and the publication of a photo book. The portraits of unique people and decades of postwar American history and culture are deeply engraved there.
