``auto-portrait (Signed)'' is a collection of works by Daido Moriyama, one of Japan's leading photographers. In the 1960s, he collaborated with his ally Takuma Nakahira, as exemplified by his first book, ``Nippon Gekisha Photobook,'' which he published while searching for his own style through encounters with Hideko Hosoe, Shomei Tomatsu, and Shuji Terayama. In the 1970s, when he released ``Provoke'' and, as its culmination, ``Goodbye to Photography,'' a challenging work that overturned the preconceived notions of photography, he returned to the roots of photography and made a spectacular comeback in the 1970s. In the 1980s, Moriyama became active again, and in the 1990s, he continued his activities through trial and error, and since 2000, he has revived the production of ``records'' and created new ones. The publication of works continues without stopping. This book consists of Moriyama's "self-portraits" projected through shadows and reflections. Text by Simon Baker for Tate Modern. Limited to 1000 copies. Includes edition number. Signed by the photographer .
