Far and Near is a photo book by Eiko Yamazawa, a pioneering female photographer born in Osaka in 1899. After studying Japanese painting at Tokyo Joshibi School of Art, she studied abroad at California of Fine Arts and majored in oil painting. At the same time, he studied photography under photographer Consoello Canega, and after returning to Japan, he opened a studio focused on portraits. It is said that his clients included major business and cultural figures such as Keizo Saji of Suntory and architect Togo Murano. Afterwards, I went back to the United States to study photography, and a few years after returning, I closed my studio, quit commercial photography, and devoted myself to free photo creation. This book is mainly composed of photographs taken in the late 1950s, and was created during the period of transition from a commercial photographer to an artist. Artistic works by pioneering female photographers, from portrait snapshots full of tenderness to illustrations rich in design with outstanding modeling ability, and even the color-centered "abstract" works that have become synonymous with Yamazawa. A book. The book was designed by my disciple Kazuko Hamachi. (Slip case damaged)
