Fabulous 1999-2006 is a photobook by Japanese photographer Yoshiki Saito. Born in Fukushima Prefecture in 1949, the photographer is currently based in Tokyo. Since the late 1990s, he has held exhibitions such as OTOZUZE and ROOM, and in 2007, he released Akechi, the first and last photobook to depict the rope world of legendary rope master Denki Akechi (1940-2005) in his later years. His works, which create a unique worldview different from that of Nobuyoshi Araki and Kishin Shinoyama, have been highly praised both in Japan and overseas. This book is also a unique work, consisting of illustrations of drag queens and the "perverts" who visit Department H (commonly known as Depatch), a party that symbolizes the Japanese underground scene. Margaret, a pioneer of the queen movement, also appears, and there is a text by Margaret at the end of the book. Furthermore, "fabulous" is a gay expression, a feminine word.
