"Photographs 1978–2015" is a collection of works by Judith Joy Ross, one of America's leading female photographers. Along with Diane Arbus and others, she is the standard-bearer of portraiture for American female photographers who have created meaningful works. Mainly filmed locally, from children in parks and schools, to members of Congress, immigrants and refugees, as well as people who have visited the National Monument, as if to tell the story of America's involvement in various wars, called to active duty. Reservists, as well as civilians who supported and protested these wars, she has captured on camera with her own themes. Intimate, sometimes tense and powerful, yet beautiful and transparent. Without a deep insight and a clear mind, I would not have been able to capture such a portrait. In recent years, reevaluation has progressed, and in the 2010s, large-scale exhibitions were held at MoMA and Cologne, Germany. A collection of catalog works published on the occasion of a traveling exhibition in Europe held at the Museum of Photography. This is the English version published by Aperture.
