A collection of works by American photographer Amos Badertscher "Baltimore Portraits". Born in Baltimore in 1936, he worked as a math teacher after graduating from Union College in New York. He started working on photography on the recommendation of a friend, and since then he has mastered the techniques on his own. A small inheritance in the mid-1970s allowed him to focus on photography ever since. After that, Amos's photographs never saw the light of day, but when he tried to sell his house, one of the buyers was a professor at Duke University, where he first saw Amos's photographs and published this book. (This book is published by Duke University). What is shown is the subculture of Baltimore. Hustlers, drag queens, gangsters, motorcycle gangs, drug addicts, and other unknown underground worlds are depicted, making this a valuable document that captures the underworld of Baltimore.
