A photo book "I Shoot America (Fair Copy)" by Kenji Kanesaka (1934-1999), a Japanese photographer and filmmaker. When he first traveled to the United States in 1961, he introduced the American hippie movement, counterculture, and experimental films to Japan. In addition, Kanesaka made a name for himself in Japan's underground scene, which flourished in the latter half of the 1960s, with a focus on criticism and political activities. This book was published in 2009 in conjunction with an exhibition held at the now-defunct "Tokyo Hipster Club" (Harajuku, Tokyo), and contains photographs taken in the United States in the 1960s and 1970s. From one scene in the city, subjects such as hippie youths, the Black Panther Party, and the social situation in America at that time, and poets such as Allen Ginsberg and Andy Warhol, with whom Kanesaka interacted, appeared. As a personal documentary, Kanesaka sees and feels fragments of American culture and movement. (There are impressions on the back of the cover and on the last few pages.)
