A collection of photographs by Japanese architect Iwao Yamawaki (1898-1987). Iwao Yamawaki was an architect who was active before and after the war, and as a professor at the Department of Design, Nihon University College of Art after the war, he was also an educator who built the foundation of "Nichigei" design education. The basis of the educational theory is modeling theory learned at "Bauhaus". After the art critic Takehiko Mizutani, he studied abroad with his wife for about two years from 1930. Among them were Mies van der Rohe, one of the four great masters of modern architecture, and Wassily Kandinsky, a pioneer of abstract painting. I am learning to It seems that he has been doing photography since before studying abroad, and this is a collection of works composed of "photographs of modeling" taken during the Bauhaus era. The architect's sense shines, such as the details of materials, the form of architecture, products designed by Mies and Josef Albers, etc., and the lyrical depiction of soft focus that occasionally includes people who remind us of Sudek. A number of illustrations. Brand new unopened.
