"Swimmers" is a collection of works by American photographer Jerry Gordon. Born in Chicago in 1949 and raised in Winnetka, Illinois, Gordon graduated from the University of Washington and studied photography at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Since the 1970s, he has been working as a freelancer, working in the world of fashion commercials and receiving commissions from "Chicago Magazine" and "The Reader". At the same time, he was also engaged in his own creative activities, and since the late 70's he has been conducting research on photography at Columbia University, as well as working as a curator. This is a collection of works published in 1982, and as the title suggests, it consists of illustrations taken from a unique perspective of "swimmers", that is, people playing in the sea or pool. There are a series of interesting illustrations, such as a unique atmosphere of floating and a unique composition image with the water surface as a border, reminiscent of Masahisa Fukase's "bukubuku".
