A collection of works by Japanese photographer Daido Moriyama (1938-) "Shinjuku 19XX-20XX (codax)". After becoming an assistant to Takeji Iwamiya and an assistant to Eikoh Hosoe, he became a freelance cameraman. Moriyama's snapshots taken throughout the city of Shinjuku from the 1970s to the 2000s are full of contrast, high-impact monochrome, abstract expression with blur and bokeh, somehow eros, and humanity. The masterpieces of snapshots, such as love, that I have taken all over the city are so original that I can recognize them as Daido Moriyama at a glance. This book is mainly composed of illustrations of Shinjuku taken from the 1970s to the 2000s. The text is in English.
